The Tigray Region Urban Development, Construction and Industry Bureau provided licenses to 900 projects during the past six months, Walta Information Center reported.
The licensed projects which have a combined registered capital of 9.8 billion birr, are expected to be finalized in a period of 3 years.
The Investors who were issued licenses are to be engaged in agriculture, industry, social services, and culture and tourism sectors.
Goitom Gebrekidan, investment section head with the Bureau, told Walta Information Center that the totality of investments has exceeded the Bureau’s target of licensing 646 projects with 5.8 billion birr capital during the stated period. This investment projects are expected to create more than 17,000 permanent and 21,000 temporary job opportunities.
