Ethiopia to Extend Support to Real Estate Developers

The Ministry of Urban Development and Housing unveiled its commitment to assist real estate developers.

Getachew Hailemariam, State Minister of Urban Development and Housing, opening the International Real Estate and Construction Exhibition on January 15, 2016, said among the support the Ethiopian government extends to real estate developers are leasing land, facilitating infrastructural provision and preparing legal frame works to address the problems.

He urged real estate investors to extend their contributions to addressing shortage of houses in urban areas and create more jobs.

Getachew emphasized the need of real estate developers’ involvement in the GTP II to build 750,000 houses.

There are 150 local and foreign real estate investors and construction inputs suppliers are taking part in the exhibition.
