CSCEC, Ethiopia Sign Deal to Construct Addis National Stadium

Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Chinese State Construction Engineering Corporation LTD (CSCEC) on January 5, 2016, have inked a deal for the construction of Addis Ababa National Stadium at a cost of 2.47 billion Birr.

Redwan Hussien, Minister of Youth and Sports and other invited guests have attended the signing ceremony.

The new stadium will be constructed on 48.8 hectares of land to hold 60,000 spectators.

The stadium meets the standards of FIFA and IAAF which helps Ethiopia to host both world cup final and Olympic Games.

MH Engineering has been awarded with design contract.

The construction of the stadium is going to be finalized in the coming 900 days. It will be constructed in Bole sub-city, near the Youth Sport Academy. The stadium will have parking space for 10,000 cars.
