Afreximbank to Hold Business Forum in Ethiopia

The African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank) is to hold a business forum on December, 21, 2015, in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, The Daily Monitor reported.

Afreximbank by organizing this forum seeks to expand awareness about its trade facilities and engage with the Ethiopian business community.

The bank revealed in Cairo that it is also organizing the forum in association with the Commercial Bank of Ethiopia, to draw information on the needs of Ethiopian enterprises and industries to allow it to customize its products and services to the needs of the market.

Afreximbank in a statement sent to The Daily Monitor said: “The Forum will feature a half-day seminar with presentations and case studies on the Bank’s trade finance offerings for business operators, followed by one-on-one meetings between participants and Afreximbank officials to discuss available financing solutions, eligibility criteria and business opportunities.”

The forum will be held in the context of GTP II and in addition it seeks to assist structural change via the financing of the manufacturing ventures, the Bank said.

Afreximbank also expressed its interest in “the promotion of competitive value-added exports and greater involvement of local entrepreneurs in key growth sectors.”

Heads of financial institutions in Ethiopia, corporate executives from different sectors of the economy and representatives of business associations, chambers of commerce and government agencies will participate in the forum.
