Ethiopian premier has urged the Ethiopian Revenue Customs Authority (ERCA) to put in use the electronic single window service system as soon as possible, Ethiopian News Agency reported.
The premier on December 16, 2015, held a discussion on the electronic single window service draft with stakeholders drawn from various ministries.
Among stakeholders drawn from different ministries were Trade, Agriculture and Natural Resources, Information and Technology and Finance and Economic Cooperation.
Hailemariam during the discussion told all stakeholders to strengthen their effort to implement the system as soon as possible so it could benefit the economy.
He noted that attention will be given to building capacity, providing training and use modern technology.
Nigussie Seid, Electronic Single Window for International Trade Project Manager at ERCA said the system will be launched after a year.
Nigussie said, in addition to facilitating trade, the electronic system would help guarantee transparent import-export transaction and regulation.
He further indicated that the system would enable local exporters to be competent in international markets and import affordable goods to local consumers.
