The Ministry of Mines, Petroleum and Natural Gas said Ethiopia has secured USD 79.3 million from mineral in the first quarter of the fiscal year.
Bacha Faji, Public Relations Director at the Ministry told Fana Broadcasting Corporate (FBC) that when compared to the same period last fiscal year, this year’s revenue exceeded by USD 13 million.
Ethiopia earned the stated amount from gold, gemstone and tantalum, Bacha noted.
Ethiopia produced 2,261 kg of gold in the quarter year, including 1,247 kg from artisanal miners.
