Ethiopian Airlines to Buy More Flight Simulators

Ethiopian Airlines revealed plans to purchase new flight simulators for new fleet of aircraft to be introduced in the coming few years.

Ethiopian is planning to have full flight simulators for A350XWB and Boeing B737 MAX aircraft which it will take deliveries in the coming few years, Mesfin Tasew, Chief Operating Officer, told The Reporter.

The Airlines will be receiving 14 A350XWB aircraft in the coming year. The European consortium, Airbus, will deliver the first two A350XWB in May/June 2016. It will also take delivery of the remaining 12 between 2017 and 2019. Ethiopian, additionally, has placed orders for 20 B737MAX narrow body jetliners from Boeing.

Ethiopian has constructed new building for flight simulators.

Currently, Ethiopian Airlines operates a fleet of 78 aircraft which it hopes to double by 2025.
