The Addis Ababa Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Agency said it is constructing 11 training centers for six technical and vocational education institutes with an outlay of half a billion Birr.

The Agency is building the institutes to improve the skill of manpower in leather and leather products, textile, agro-processing and metal manufacturing sectors.

Among the officials that visited the construction sites include college deans, technical and vocational education heads of sub cities, representatives of Hebret Metal and Engineering Corporation.

Zaru Simur, Agency’s Director-General, speaking at the event said the sector being the priority area in the GTP II period; it would extend significant technical support to the manufacturing sector.

Currently, more than 30 percent of the construction has been completed.
