Bishoftu Automotive Industry to Establish 27 New Industrial Zones in Ethiopia

Bishoftu Automotive Industry announced plans to establish 27 new automotive engineering zones across Ethiopia the in the coming years, Ethiopian Herald reported.

General Manager of Bishoftu Automotive Industry Gebremedhin Zeselassie said the Industry is planning to open 27 automotive engineering zones that will be assembling and manufacturing motorcycles, bicycles, light and heavy trucks and other vehicles in different parts of Ethiopia.

Along with assembling and manufacturing different civil and military vehicles, the Industry is providing professional training in neighboring countries, Gebremedhin added.

The Industry assembles and manufactures pick-up, station-wagon, light and medium trucks, minibus and buses.

Bishoftu has already signed an agreement with Uganda, Kenya and Rwanda to build motor production factories. Kenya has also placed orders to purchase 400 buses from Bishoftu.
