Ethiopian Airports Enterprise (EAE) announced it will build a cold storage that can preserve more than 150 tons of products in Dire Dawa International Airport.
The installation of the cold storage in Dire Dawa Airport, the second busiest airport in Ethiopia would help store the increasing export products fresh in the locality.
Wondimu Teklu, EAE Public Relations Director, said the cold storage is expected to directly deliver products to East Africa, the Middle East and Europe.
The Director states the project costs 100 to 150 million Birr.
After Mekelle Alula Aba Nega and Bahirdar Guenbot 20 International Airport, Dire Dawa airport cold storage is the third significant project EAE undertakes.
When the cold storage is installed, it will preserve perishable items like vegetables, fruits and meat before delivery to consumers.
