UK-Ethiopia Trade and Investment Forum Held in London

The UK-Ethiopia Trade and Investment Forum was held in London on October 21, 2015, according to Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia (MoFA).

The Forum was organized by Developing Market Associates (UK), the Embassy of Ethiopia in London, WAFA Marketing and Promotion PLC, the Ethiopian Chamber of Commerce and Sectoral Associations and the Embassy of the UK in Addis Ababa.

British companies at the Forum had the chance to see and hear about business opportunities in Ethiopia. The Forum was attended by Dr. Tedros Adhanom, the Foreign Minister of Ethiopia and Mr. Grant Shapps MP, Minister of State, Department for International Development with a portfolio held jointly between the Foreign Office and DFID.

There were a series of meetings on investing in Infrastructure and Energy, on tourism, minerals and manufacturing and agriculture as well as the role of Diaspora.

According to Dr. Tedros Adhanom, the Forum presented an opportunity for the two countries to bolster economic cooperation and invite UK and European investors in Ethiopia’s emerging market and wide opportunities in various sectors.
