Addis Ababa City Roads Authority said it plans to increase the city’s road coverage up to 22 percent in this budget year, Ethiopian News Agency reported.
This budget year the Authority plans to build 917 kilometers of roads, said Engineer Fekade Haile, General Manager of the Authority.
The additional 917 kilometers of road construction will raise the city’s road coverage from 20 percent to 22 percent this budget year, said Fekade.
Among the 187 road projects planned this fiscal year, there are 115 kilometers of main roads, 49 road projects around condominium houses and four gravel roads.
The existing and new roads construction including those around condominium houses cost will be six billion Birr, added Fekade.
