The Central Statistical Agency of Ethiopia (CSA) is said to construct buildings for its four branches in Mekelle, Hawassa, Ambo and Bahir Dar, according to Addis Fortune.
World Bank extended 800,000 dollars for the constructions to be undertaken. This amount is part of the 10 million dollars that the Bank reserved for the capacity building of CSA.
On September 30, 2015, CSA had accorded the construction of Ambo building to Bereket Haile Building Contractor.
Bahir Dar building will have four storeys and the remaining three will have three storeys, according to the Project Manager of CSA Tessema Geda.
Tessema Said: “The existing situation of the branch offices is challenging; especially the Ambo branch which is very old and difficult to work in during the rainy season. The Mekelle branch is also too small to accommodate all the staff.”
The Agency has 25 branch offices in various Regional States of Ethiopia.
