National Airways, a private airline in Ethiopia, is to begin flight services to the self-declared State of Puntland, according to The Reporter.

Founder and CEO of National Airways Abera Lemi (Capt.) told The Reporter the thrice weekly flight will be launched from October 12, 2015. Beach 1900D aircraft is going to be used for the Addis Ababa-Gerewe route, capital of Puntland, Abera added.

The airlines had signed air service contract on October 2, 2015, with the Puntland Ministry of Trade and Industry in Addis Ababa. National Airways will be the first private airline in Ethiopia to commence regional flight service.

National Airways was founded in 2007. It provides charter flight services to corporate companies, oil and gas, mining companies, international aid organizations and tourists.
