The Ethiopian Shipping and Logistics Services Enterprise (ESLSE) is said to buy Roll-on/Roll-off (Roro) vessels in the GTP II period, Capital reported.
ESLSE imports vehicles using RoRo vessels of an alliance of shipping lines, yet plans to purchase RoRo because of regular growth of vehicle imports.
RoRo ships are vessels designed to carry automobiles, trucks, semi-trailer trucks, trailers and railroad cars that are driven on and off the ship on the wheels.
Even if ESLSE plans to purchase four RoRo vessels, it does not specify the number that will be bought in GTP II period.
The former Ethiopian Shipping Lines (ESL), Ethiopian Maritime Transit Services (EMTS), and Dry Port Service Enterprise (DPSE) had formed ESLSE in 2011.
