Ethiopia plans to export natural gas in the coming 3-5 years, according to the Ministry of Mines (MoM).
Mines Minister Tolossa Shagi told Fana Broadcasting Corporate (FBC) said: “This will enable the country to earn USD 1 billion annually.”
Ethiopia had inked a deal with Chinese Company POLY-GCL Petroleum Group Holdings Ltd for the development of the natural gas deposit at Calub and Hilala areas in Somali Regional State in 25 years.
There is a deposit of 4.7 trillion cubic feet of gas in Calub and Hilala fields, Tolossa noted.
