Ethiopia aims to secure USD 3.2 billion from tourism sector this budget year, Ministry of Culture and Tourism stated.
Gezahegn Abate, Public and International Relations Director at the Ministry, told Walta Information Center (WIC) the Ministry plans to raise the money from 1 million and 40 thousand foreign tourists expected to visit Ethiopia in this budget year.
In the previous fiscal year, over 774,000 tourists had visited Ethiopia and the Ministry had secured USD 2.9 billion, Gezahagn indicated.
The Ministry plans to raise the intended money additionally from advertisements of historical, natural and religious tourist destinations of Ethiopia through international media, Gezahegn noted.
