Ethiopia stands 21 out of 21 nations on its financial and digital inclusion efforts, the 2015 Brookings Financial and Digital Inclusion Project (FDIP) report states.
The Brookings Institution is a non-profit public policy organization based in Washington, DC.
Kenya came out first, South Africa second and Brazil stands third.
The 2015 FDIP report assesses and ranks nations on four magnitudes of financial inclusion: the nation’s commitment to increasing financial inclusion, its mobile capacity, the regulatory environment and adoption of traditional and digital services.
The 21 nations chosen are Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Brazil, Chile, Columbia, Ethiopia, India, Indonesia, Kenya, Malawi, Mexico, Nigeria, Pakistan, Peru, the Philippines, Rwanda, South Africa, Tanzania, Turkey, Uganda and Zambia.
