The 12th edition of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Africon 2015 Conference was launched on September 15, 2015, in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, on the theme “Green Innovation for African Renaissance”.

Dr. Debretsion Gebremichael, Economic Sector Cluster Leader with the Rank of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Communication and Information Technology, at the opening of the conference said the conference is helpful for Africa to bring forth socio-economic transformation.

At the IEEE Africon 2015 Conference, academics and industry professionals from the globe share experiences with each other and present their latest research papers in green energy fields systems, ICT, sustainable technology development.

365 scientific papers had been submitted to the conference from the continents. 45 of the papers are going to be presented at the conference. Ethiopian researchers, AAU staff and graduate students had contributed 35 papers, sources indicated.
