The U.S. Commercial Service in Ethiopia together with Addis Ababa Chamber of Commerce had organized a workshop on Monday, September 14, 2015, in Addis Ababa, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia (MoFA) reported.
Representatives of 10 U.S. firms are holding a discussion one-on-one on exports, partnerships and investment with representatives and officials from more than 70 Ethiopian businesses and public sector entities.
Ambassador Patricia Haslach, U.S. Ambassador to Ethiopia, said: “The U.S government and my Embassy are working hard and enthusiastically to advance President Obama’s vision for the future of U.S.-Africa relations and remain committed to deepening commercial ties with Africa, particularly with Ethiopia, as is evident from the President’s recent visit here.”
She also stated the extension of the African Growth Opportunity Act (AGOA) for the coming ten years will be useful for Ethiopia to increase its exports to America.
