The Koyo Group and NEC Energy Solutions, Japanese companies involved in manufacturing and selling of energy equipments disclosed their intention to do business in Ethiopia, Ethiopian News Agency (ENA) reported.
The two Japanese companies told ENA they want to offer their products and establish large-scale power plants in Ethiopia.
Koji Makita General Manager of Koyo Group said: “We have been roll out the solar power generation business all over the world.”
He also stated its company is searching for potential partners to do business in Ethiopia.
NEC Energy Solutions is engaged in developing and manufacturing smart storage solutions for electric grid, backup power and lead acid replacement applications.
Chad Baker NEC African Area Coordinator said: “Advanced energy storage technology is integral to increase the efficiency of power grids in Ethiopia and enabling them to become smarter, cleaner and more reliable.” Therefore, NEC is keen to do business in Ethiopia.
Alemayehu Tegenu Ethiopian Minister of Water, Irrigation and Energy said Ethiopia is willing to welcome investors engaged in energy sector.
