The “Habesha New Year Expo” organized by Habesha Weekly Promotion Kicked off last Sunday, August 22, 2015 at the Addis Ababa Exhibition Center, Capital reported.

The exhibition will stay open until September 11, 2015 and it aims at “Promoting Ethiopia and building our brand through economical sustainability.”

Former Ethiopian President Girma Wolde Giorgis and Industry Vice Minister Tadesse Haile were guests of honors at the opening ceremony. The former president has lit up a large candle to formally open the exhibition.

400 local and foreign companies are participating in the exhibition. The exhibition costs the organizers 15 million Birr. 500,000 visitors are expected to visit the expo.

The expo stages entertainment events like concerts and standup comedy shows.
