Ethiopia: DBE Avails 76 Billion Birr Loan for Priority Projects

develomental bank of ethiopiaThe Development Bank of Ethiopia (DBE) says it prepares 76 billion Birr for priority sectors of investment in five years to come, according to the Capital.

DBE has embraced the objective of availing financing for major investment sectors to assist GTP II realize its aims.

According to the statement Capital obtains from DBE points out, the bank has plans to lend 75.99 billion Birr in five years to come and will release 70.72 billion Birr from the approved 75.99 billion Birr in loans.

The bank plans to approve 12.9 billion Birr loans this year to clients operating on projects of lower economy priority and is prepared to avail 10.8 billion Birr from the approved 12.9 billion birr.

For small and medium enterprises, DBE has set aside 1.6 billion Birr for the 2015/16 budget year.

By the end of 2014/15 budget year, the bank has approved 9.69 billion Birr of loans and has given out credits of 6.84 billion Birr.

The bank has extended loans to 370 companies in the 2014/15 budget year.
