The Privatization and Public Enterprises (PPESA) is going to sell Wabi Shebelle Hotels Enterprise located at the shores of Langano Lake, Capital reported.
PPESA transferred the main Wabi Shebelle Hotel located in Addis Ababa to the grand children of the late King Hailesilase II, the original owners of the hotel in 2010.
As the main office of the hotel enterprise was returned to the owners, the Langano Wabi Shebelle Hotel was transferred to be managed by Filwoha Hotels Enterprise.
Wondafrash Assefa, Public Relation Head of PPESA, said, the lakeside hotel is one of the public enterprises up for privatization in this budget year.
Langano Wabi Shebelle Hotel is 200km away from Addis Ababa. It has 65 rooms, restaurants and recreation areas on the lakeside.
Currently, PPESA owns three hotels in Ethiopia, including Wabi Shebelle Hotel. Ghion and Filwoha Hotels are the last two hotel facilities which remain under government ownership.
