Dashen Brewery PLC is to commence production at its second plant built in Debre Birhan, Addis Fortune reported.

Dessalegn Mekonnen, Project Manager at Dashen Brewery, said the plant will produce two million hectoliters in the first three years and three million hectoliters subsequently. The new plant is producing the same quality of beer as Dashen’s first plant in Gondar with the same packaging and 4.5 percent of alcohol.

The new factory is situated on 12 hectares of land in North Shoa Zone of Amhara Region.

The company needed to build another factory because of the increasing demand.

49 percent of Dashen Brewery’s share is owned by TIRET and Duet, UK Investment Company owns the remaining 51% share. Dashen was founded in 2000.
