Ethio Telecom (ET) has collected 21.5 billion Birr in gross profit in the 2014/15 budget year, Capital reported.

A year before, Ethio Telecom has collected 17.5 billion Birr in profit. ET increased its profit this year by four billion Birr. Though ET grossed 21.5 billion Birr this year, it had projected a total profit of 28 billion Birr.

Power interruption and telecom fraud are cited as the prominent reasons for ET’s underperformance this year. The limitation of supply of mobile and landline phone apparatus also confined ET to meet profit targets.
