China Civil Engineering Corporation (CCECC) signed an agreement to undertake the construction of Hawassa Industrial Park, according to MoFA.
The project is worth USD 246 million and expected to be finished in nine months. The project targets at constructing garment factories and agro-industries.
In the first phase of construction, there will be 35 factory sheds and 19 buildings which will be used for exhibition halls, food courts, dormitories and other purposes.
Currently, four industrial zones were constructed in Ethiopia. Three of them are foreign-owned. And Bole Lemi Industrial Zone is government owned.
