Wonji Cooperative Union of Sugar Cane Plantations said it has intended to construct ethanol factory.
Teshome Abera, Deputy Manager of the Union told Walta Information Center (WIC), the Union was founded with an initial capital of 45 thousand Birr in 2000, and the Union’s capital has now grown into 20 million Birr.
The Union managed 30 cooperatives that have 30, 000 cooperative members working in fodder processing, animal rearing, agricultural tractors renting and supplying of sugarcane, Teshome stated.
The Union will use molasses, out puts discharged from Wonji Sugar Factory to produce ethanol.
