The National Bank of Ethiopia has announced a bid for the preparation of architectural designs for nine regional branches it plans to build, Addis Fortune reported.
The Bank seeks the designs to be similar because each structure is going to lie on 12,000 square meter of land.
The branches’ design is expected to include a basement, ground floor and two storeys and must be designed to have four strong rooms, one currency sorting and verification hall, a banknotes sample counter’s hall, a room for the installation of shredding and briquetting machine, and other facilities like offices, kitchen, conference room, and a lounge.
NBE is the central bank that regulates the financial sector along with insurance and microfinance institutions.
Presently, the Bank works in one central branch with a liaison in Dire Dawa.
