Privatization and Public Enterprises Supervising Agency (PPESA) intends to privatize 15 public enterprises in the second GTP Period, according to Walta Information Center (WIC).
PPESA communicated its intention on the discussion held on the second GTP with different sections of the society to privatize 15 selected public enterprises in the second GTP out of the total 27 enterprises owned by the government.
Wendaferash Assefa, Corporate Communication Director at the Agency, told WIC, the remaining 12 strategic enterprises like Berhanena Selam printing enterprises, Educational materials production and distribution enterprise (EMPDE) will remain at government hand.
Since 1995 GC, PPESA has privatized 370 public enterprises throughout Ethiopia and secured 19 billion Birr revenue.
