Gilgel Gibe III hydro electric dam, one of the biggest mega projects in Ethiopia, is completed, Tigray Online reported.

Gilgel Gibe III is the second largest hydro electric dam after the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam-GERD. Gilgel Gibe III is a 610 meter long and 243 meter high roller-compacted concrete dam.

It is going to yield 1870 Megawatt of energy. The dam adds 2000 Megawatts of power to the regional grid, availing double power to Ethiopia.
