Ethiopian Customs and Revenue Authority (ERCA) said it has collected 116 billion birr in the past 11 months of this fiscal year.

Ephraim Mekonen, Education and Communication Director of the Authority, told ( Walta Information Center) WIC it collected the revenue from customs tariffs, revenue taxes and net profit of national lottery services.

The authority used SIGTAS software (Standard Integrated Government Tax Administration System) to undertake the taxing system, he added.

Currently, the annual tax revenue of Ethiopia covers 80 percents of its total spending and GTP II period; Ethiopia intends to cover 100 percent of its spending with the total tax revenue.
