Ethiopia Secures USD 306 Million from Manufacturing Products Export

Ministry of Industry said Ethiopia has secured USD 306,429,000 in revenue from exported manufacturing products in the last nine months, Walta Information Center (WIC) reported.

The foreign currency was secured form exported textiles, leather and leather products, meat and dairy products, food and pharmaceuticals, chemicals, construction inputs and engineering metal products, Melaku Taye, Public Relations Head in the Ministry, told WIC.

Out of the exported items, textiles and leather products have contributed the highest share; 25.5 and 32.6 percent respectively, he added.

He also noted the manufacturing sector has shown an average of 20 percent increase in the past four years of the GTP period.
