National Airways, a private airline in Ethiopia has brought two new Beech 1900D aircrafts from United States, The Reporter reported.
Captain Abera Lemi, founder and CEO of the airways, has received the two 19-seater turboprop aircraft at Addis Ababa Bole International Airport on Tuesday, June 3, 2015. Captain Abera told The Reporter his airline acquired three Beech 1900D aircraft with a lease purchase option. Two of the aircrafts have already arrived and the third one is expected to reach at Addis Ababa in the coming few weeks.
According to the CEO, the aircraft has a speed of 270 Nautical Miles (500km per hour) and can climb an altitude up to 25,000 feet.
National Airways started air transport service in 2008. It provides local/regional flights and Air Ambulance service under the motto ‘A Spirit of a Rising Nation’.
