Ethiopia: Dangote Cement plant Inaugurated

Dangote, East Africa’s biggest cement plant was inaugurated by Ethiopian Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegne on May 28, 2015, according to Ethiopian News Agency.

 

The factory is constructed with 480 million USD. It rests on 134 hectares of land in West Shoa Zone, close to Mugher town of Oromia Regional State about 85 km from Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

Dangote Cement has a capacity of producing 2.5 million tons of cement a year, there by raises Ethiopia’s annual production to 8 million tons from the current 5.4 million tons.
