Ethiopia: Ahadukes Food Products Factory Inaugurated

Ahadukes Food Products, Biscuit and Pasta Factory which was built with the cost of 800 million Birr was inaugurated on May 5, 2015, Ethiopian News Agency (ENA).

The factory is situated in Bishoftu town of Oromia Regional State, Ethiopia. It is a joint investment between Ahadu PLC and UK-based Investment Group and has a capacity to produce 500 quintals of biscuits a day.

The Factory rests on 42,000 square meters of land and has acquired 36,000 square meters a year ago for the expansion of the Factory.

UK Ambassador to Ethiopia, Greg Dorey said at the inauguration ceremony UK investment was minimal few years back and satisfied at the way “our investment has taken off dramatically from this low case in recent years.”

Although UK investment is expanding in various sectors, “food and beverages continues to be one area in which we think the UK has a great deal more to offer to the Ethiopian market” he said.

Vasari’s prime local investment was in the Dashen Brewery in association with TIRET.
