Ethiopian Roads Authority (ERA) announced it has launched upgrading of the 159 kilometer Sodo-Omo River-Tercha gravel road with the cost of three billion Birr, Ethiopian News Agency reported.
Daniel Mengiste, ERA’s Plan and Program Director said the road links the southern and western parts of Ethiopia, specifically Zaro, Gocha, Bele, Soretona, Guneno woredas and kebeles in Wolaita zone.
The upgrading project will be handled by Chinese companies.
The entire cost of the upgrading project will be covered by the Ethiopian government.
