Ethiopia: Ries Introduces New CAT Generators

Caterpillar Inc., a US-based heavy equipment manufacturing company, introduced its newest range of different capacity Caterpillar generators for the Ethiopian market on Wednesday, April, 22, 2015 at an event held at the Sheraton Addis.

The company distributes the generators via its agent in Ethiopia, Ries Engineering S.C, Capital reported.

The new range of Caterpillar generators have a capacity ranging from 6.5 kva to 220 kva and are substituting the formerly supplied Olympian range generators.

The previous ranges of generators were fitted with Perkins diesel engines but now the new Caterpillar generators are fitted with Caterpillar diesel engines.

“These are premium products due to the quality that is built in them and also the support that is provided after sales”, Fekadu Mengistu, Deputy Managing Director of Ries Engineering noted at the ceremony.

“We are successful in other African countries with the new product and we expect the same demand from the growing Ethiopian Economy”, said Stefan Laszewski, Business Development and Electric Power Territory Manager of Caterpillar Inc.

Ries Engineering has been importing and distributing heavy equipments, generating sets, agricultural machinery, and vehicles from notable manufactures such as, Caterpillar, Massey Ferguson, Valtra & Challenger, and Ford for the past 50 years.
