Ethiopian Airlines, Africa’s biggest airline, has inaugurated its brand new ultra modern Boeing 787 simulator, according to Fana Broadcasting Corporate.

The inauguration took place side by side with the 24th African Aviation Conference that was launched here in Addis Ababa yesterday.

Workineh Gebeyehu, Ethiopian Minister of Transport, stated Africans must invest in airplane maintenance to fully benefit from air travel. Tewolde Gebremariam, CEO of Ethiopian Airlines, on his part said Ethiopia is contributing its share by being among the five African countries which provide airplane maintenance services.

Even if Ethiopia has trained more than 1,800 personnel in the sector, job opportunities are scant in African countries because of lack of airplane maintenance services. Therefore, it’s important for Africans to establish maintenance facilities to meet the rising demand.
