Ethiopia’s capital Addis Ababa got a new three star hotel, Southern Addis Hotel. The hotel was inaugurated on Tuesday, March 10, 2015.
The hotel is built by Erango Terason, an Ethiopian investor. It costed 100 million Birr and it is a four storey building with 40 bedrooms, two suite bedrooms and two restaurants. It is located in Bole area.
According to Erango there is plan to carry out expansion works, which includes gym, swimming pool and conference facility. The expansion work is going to be carried out in the coming year.
Currently Southern Addis has a total of 60 employees working under it.
In the past six years the number of hotels in Ethiopia’s capital has been by 12 in average. This is expected to grow to 18 in the coming six years. Number of bedrooms has also increased in the past six years by 5,000 which means the annual average bedroom increment is 750.
Currently hotels in Addis have an aggregate of 7,500 hotel rooms.
