Ethiopia: Entrepreneurs Awarded by UNDP

Entrepreneurs in Ethiopia have been awarded by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and received the award from the hands of Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn. The event was held on Thursday, March 5, 2015 at Sheraton Addis.

In the past two years UNDP has been training 12,000 entrepreneurs on creating new opportunities and boosting their creativity.

Entrepreneurs who are regarded as outstanding and considered to have made significant impacts on the Ethiopian economy, environment and their communities, were awarded prizes ranging from USD 5,000 to USD 20,000.

There were six categories of award; urban job creation, rural job creation, micro and small enterprises, environmental conservation, best male entrepreneur, best female entrepreneur and best entrepreneur of the year.
