Amhara State Agriculture Bureau disclosed it is going to distribute a total of 3 million quintals of fertilizers in the coming Ethiopia’s harvest season – 2015.

Commenting on the matter, Dr. Shimelash Yeshaneh, Bureau Crop Development and Technology Promotion Business Process Owner, said the fertilizers that will be distributed are urea and sulfur coated urea.

Out of the total 3 million quintals fertilizers, around 1.5 million quintals are urea.

Shimeles explained DAP fertilizers are going to be completed replaced by sulfur coated urea for the earlier is found to be less productive.

He furthered there are wide – ranging activities talking place in the aim of developing various crops on more than 4 million hectares of land in the 2007/08 EC harvest season.

According to Shimeles, 3.6 million farmers are expected to participate in the development activities.
