Ethiopian Roads Authority (ERA) disclosed it has undertaken repair as well as upgrading of more than 9,000 Kilometer roads across Ethiopia in the past six months.

The target the Authority set for the current fiscal year is to repair 17,591 kilometers of major, connecting as well as ordinary roads. In the past six months it managed to meet more than half of what it intended for by repairing 9,309 Kilometers.

Samson Wondimu, head of Pubic Relations at ERA, noted as the current fiscal year is the end of Ethiopia’s Growth and Transformation Plan period there will be extra effort exerted in order to meet the targets set almost five years ago.

ERA’s budget for the current fiscal year is 30 Billion Birr out of which h it has already spent 11 Billion Birr.
