Ethiopia’s capital city is going to get 294 mobile toilets that are worth 30 Million Birr. Addis Ababa Water & Sewerage Authority (AAWSA) is going to take delivery of the toilets that are three square meters from the Metal and Engineering Corporation (MetEC).
The toilets are going to be two rooms, for men and women, and they will be equipped with two hand washing facilities. They will have 750 Liter water tanker at the top and a septic tank buried beneath it.
Recently AAWSA took delivery of 116 mobile toilets from MetEC for the price of 11 Million Birr.
Currently Ethiopia’s capital has 63 public toilets that are under the control of the Authority. Out of these 63 public toilets, 27 of them are communal.
Addis Ababa City Administration allocated 41.5 Million Birr for the current fiscal year in order to takethe total number of toilets beyond the 1,000 targeted as set in the Growth and Transformation Plan (GTP). The municipal intends to include an additional 830 mobile, 20 publi and 70 communal toilets.
