The Addis Ababa Light Rail Project (AALRP) performed electro-mechanical trial on the Meskel Sqaure – Kality corridor.

The project is at its last stages with most of the constructions nearing completion and electro – mechanical activities are also on the same track with the construction.

The railways all electric cables are going to be connected to live currents in just a matter of few days.

The project manager Behailu Sintayehu, warned pedestrians to only cross the rail on boarding stations and to avoid restricted paths.

Behailu also explained 19 trams have reached Ethiopia’s capital and 22 more will reach the city soon.

The boarding stations Behailu spoke of are under currently under construction.
