The newly reestablished Ethiopian Investment Commission (EIC), disclosed it issued license for 135 new and expansion investment projects in the first three months of the current fiscal year.

Nonetheless, according to the Commission’s Public Relations Directorate Director, Getahun Negash, the plan was to issue license for 145 projects. Among the 135 projects, some 99 of them are owned by foreign investors.

54 projects with a registered capital of 4.47 Billion Birr went operational during the same period.

According to Walta Information Center (WIC), these projects have created a permanent job opportunity for 1,834 people and 829 casual job opportunities.
