The Project Manager of Akaki-Lebu, Mr Hu, disclosed the road is currently 27 percent complete.

The road is designed to connect the capital of Ethiopia with the Addis-Adama Express Way. According to Addis Ababa City Roads Authority’s Head, Fekade Haile, the Akaki-Lebu road is anticipated to reduce the traffic jam in the Akaki Kality area.

The road project is a 6 Billion Birr project. It is facing some problems with regard to demarcation and shortage of inputs. Yet, according to Ethiopian News Agency, the contractor is doing every it can to finalize the road by the scheduled time period.
