The Turkish Construction company, Yapi Merkezi, concluded a USD 3.4 Million deal with Palfinger Sany Mobile Cranes for the supply of cranes and concrete equipment for its 389 kilometer railway project in Ethiopia.
According to a press release by Palfinger Sany the deal includes, a range of Palfinger Sany truck, Rough Terrain and knuckle-boom loader cranes, as well as Sany concrete pumps and concrete mixers.
Yapi is currently undertaking railway line construction from Awash to Weldia. The project is worth USD 1.7 Billion and the Ethiopian Government is undertaking this project as part of an investment programme by Ethiopian Railway Corporation to connect northern Ethiopia with central regions in order to drive the nation’s economic growth.
Commenting on the development Palfinger Sany’s managing director, Michael Gruböck, said; “We are very proud to be selected to supply Yapi Merkezi, one of the world's leading transportation infrastructure companies, with our products for this important railway project of the Ethiopian infrastructure investment programme.”
