Ethiopia’s Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn opened Africa Hotel Investment Forum 2014 on Tuesday, September 30, 2014. The Forum is said to have attracted a global audience from the hotel and tourism industry.
The Premier noted his government has started a process to structurally adjust and transform Ethiopia’s tourism and hospitality industry.
He further explained the attention the Ethiopian government is giving to the sector and told the participants “the main responsibilities and role of the public to the industry have been well identified”. He used the occasion to call onto investors to come and invest in Ethiopia.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Forum is Africa’s top event for hotel investors and it has brought over 500 delegates from different countries. Among the delegates participating in the Forum, high-level executives and government ministers are said to be among them.
