Commercial Bank of Ethiopia awarded Computer Business Machines (CBM), a Lebanese IT vendor, a contract for the supply and installation of 200 Automatic Teller Machines (ATM). The ATMs are said to be worth 51 Million Birr.
The bid was floated in October 2013 and it was for the supply of 200 ATMs and 4,000 Point of Sale (PoS) machines. With regard to ATMs four IT firms responded for the tender and eight IT vendors made an offer for the PoS machines supply.
Financial evaluation for the tender started in July 2014. The evaluation showed SSC and CBM offered the lowest prices for the PoS and ATMs respectively.
It was only a month ago CBE awarded SSC the contract for the supply of the 4,000 VeriFone PoS machines that are worth 39 Million Birr.
Commercial Bank of Ethiopia was established in 1942 and it currently has 832 branches hiring 18,542 employees across the country.
